Alexander Technique: Alexander is often considered “Actor Movement” and is the foundation for safe movement in character study. It teaches you how to become rooted in your body and be able to play a character safely without injuring yourself in roles that require any sort of physical modification (Ex. Richard III has a hunch back). It also gives a basis for spacial awareness in regard to the actors around you as well as the awareness of yourself in a scene.
Viewpoints: This will be combined with various “theater games” to promote focus and character exploration through various improv based exercises.
Meisner Technique: This is an acting technique that focuses on being truthful on stage and playing a character with as much depth and believability as possible. The main idea of this technique will be used as “Living truthfully under imaginary circumstances.”
Stanislavsky Technique: This is an acting technique that will be used as a way to teach lyric and character analysis. It teaches how to score a piece of text and find your main objectives and goals throughout songs, scenes, and monologues.
